Shovel Knight is…
A Retro style pixel action platformer, reminiscent of its 8-bit predecessors. This game reminded me of the classics from my childhood. Shovel Knight has all the elements you would expect from a classic platformer for the 8-bit days, weapons to be sought out across the world, varied enemy types that ramp as you gain new relics with specific skills.
In classic game style, Shovel Knight has am array of boss enemies.
The overworld map offers multiple paths to progress, so you can find the path that suits you best or you can complete them all for you completionists.

So what does OKG say?
Shovel Knight is one of those games that gets tacked into the OKG the catagory of, “if I was younger and had more time”. If I had less to do and was less affected by my nerve condition and the shaky hands it leaves me with, then this is exactly the kind that would have me hooked for quite awhile. It is just hard enough that while I am repeatedly failing, I still believe I almost had it every time, close enough that I quickly want to try it again. It might take me an ungodly amount of lives to succeed, but if I am enjoying it, it doesn’t matter.
So OKG says, this game is worth trying to everyone, go into seeing if you enjoy it, and be fine if you don’t. I have a feeling a good number of you will feel that reminiscent pull to try one more time.
